What we do

Economic Development

Over 60% rural young women and youths in Kenya live on less than $2 a day. They lack access to education, skills training and business start up skills. Vocational training programs have gaps in ready market and business skills. They lack financial and social resources to attend local vocational training.

Sawa’s economic empowerment model partners with rural youth and young women to become thriving social entrepreneurs by providing training, resources, access to market, partnership, community and ongoing mentorship and support Our model incorporates leadership, psychosocial and spiritual support.

Our model empowers youths and young women to support themselves, their community and grow the economy of the whole region hence breaking the cycle of poverty.
